Heartwarming Charity – Project HOPE
In August 2021, Haiti experienced an earthquake of a 7.2 magnitude that caused death and destruction in the Tiburon Peninsula. The death toll is expected to continue rising, and it is these individuals who are in desperate need of help. That is why this month we are featuring a charity who is working to provide aid to those in need in this emergency – Project HOPE.

Project HOPE is an international nonprofit organization who is striving to transform the health and well-being of people located around the world. The organization has been around for over 60 years, and in that time, they have been working to assist through natural disasters, worldwide emergencies, as well as lending helping hands to local health care workers across the globe. This charity is working in five areas where they provide assistance, including disasters and health crises, infectious diseases, noncommunicable diseases, maternal, neonatal and child health, and health policy. “When disaster strikes, we respond.” Project HOPE has ensured that if there is ever a disaster or emergency where multitudes are affected, they are there responding as best they can. They provide an initial response that focuses on aiding the health of those in need and lending a hand to rebuild communities to support the local areas long after the disaster. Through the collection of donations, they work to “maximize the value of every contribution” so that they can help as many people as possible.

As stated on their website, Project HOPE believes that there are many ways to address situations and one way to address health problems is to work alongside health care systems and the health care workers to provide support and empowerment to make a lasting impact in their areas.
