Chiropractors are primary health care providers. You see patients in your office, and as well, you are sometimes called out to deal with injuries and emergencies. In fact, a chiropractor sees patients in all forms of health — elderly, injured, ill and weak, athletes, and those in general poor health. You can’t know all the medical background of everyone you see so it is more than likely that you, or someone in your office, will come face to face with a life-threatening emergency. This is why first aid training is essential for chiropractors, and not just for you, but for everyone on your team.
Patients expect their chiropractor to be a life saver. They believe that any chiropractor, massage therapist, or physiotherapist is there to help them be in the best possible health, even if they don’t think about CPR and emergency first aid as being a part of that.
Basic Life Support First Aid training for chiropractors enhances the knowledge you already have about the human body, including the heart, and enable you to recognize and assess a patient’s pain. With BLS health care provider training, your entire staff can recognize the signs of a cardiac emergency and prepare to act fast. If a patient in your office does go into sudden cardiac arrest then an AED and proper training can save their life.

AED’s for Chiropractic Offices
Emergencies can happen anywhere, at any time, and being prepared is the difference between life and death. An Automatic External Defibrillator should be close by and functioning properly at all times. Don’t rely on the one next door. You are not responsible for that one, and you cannot be sure that it will be available and functioning properly should you need it. Ensure you have an AED in your own office, and that everyone on your team knows how to use it.
Professionals who have the proper equipment and up-to-date first aid training inspire confidence from their patients. In an emergency, paramedics can take five to 10 minutes to arrive, and in that time, your team could save a life.
